Title: Paroxysm

Tagline: When anguish comes, they will seek peace, but there will be none.

Inspiration: Paroxysm is where the Cataclysm series breaks from its Final Fantasy roots and expands into several different ideas. Sucking up ideas prevalent in Fallout and Shadow of the Colossus, as well as the likes of Bleach and Death Note, Paroxysm follows a grander and more gritty tale.

Plotline: Paroxysm begins after nearly two decades have passed. It also follows four new characters as they struggle through the world and progress towards their ultimate fate.

Character Inspiration: In this installment, the majority of the new characters are based upon my created ideas. Some, such as Faux, give new life to ideas I had used in earlier stories, namely the short and quick follow-ups to FoEK.

Action Inspiration: The action is based mainly on military warfare with a handful of encounters basing themselves upon the larger-than-life idea behind the enemies in Shadow of the Colossus.
