Name: Dynasty
Inspiration: Dynasty began years ago with a simple idea: to reproduce the massive battles of the Three Kingdoms period of China's history. Dynasty Warriors does just such a thing so I decided to create something that emulates that. I chose Dynasty and came up with two names. It ended at that. I then picked Dynasty up again somewhere around March 4th, 2007. I would say it is my most emotional story out of my works so far. It may have some action but what goes on before and after the battle has strong bearing on the characters.
Plotline: Dynasty is like Sharpshot in some respects. It's a realistic story where there is no insta-cure waiting around the corner. It begins with two women, Misaki and Inari, as shrine maidens. They join the military and are soon dragged into a three-way struggle for control of the entire continent.
Character Inspiration: The characters were created simply from my imagination, leading very little inspiration that I can pick from the top of my head. However, my thoughts of what would happen to two of the characters carried over from the first attempt at writing Dynasty.
Action Inspiration: The action was largely influenced by Chinese Proverbs known as the Thirty-Six Strategies. These map out thirty six combat techniques that could be considered for conflicts in China's acient history, absolutely perfect for the large-scale battles that take place in Dynasty. |
