Inspiration: Alive is the stand-out case in the stories listed. Started as a second installment of the idea dumps I called Minisodes, Alive served to give details on several portions of the history behind Ensemble. While the Minisodes name still stands as my go-to place to pitch new ideas that may otherwise slow my progress in full stories and are not developed enough to form their own stories, three ideas shared the same concept - a prequel to Ensemble.
The two stories that started the prequel idea were the detailed pasts of Circle members Renamir and Dafyr - called Five Points to a Perfect Star and Cult of Personality, respectively. However, only the former began to develop as I wanted it to. With other stories to hold my attention, and new ideas behind them, I came to the conclusion that a few characters deserved to have some type of prequel, namely Rialce, Saren and Chita. In writing the first segment of Alive - The Title Tale - ideas sprang forth on how to conclude the other two, and they came together into Alive to build it up as an encompassing prequel that tells the hardships behind several of the key characters.
